Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is an effort or technique to get traffic to a website / blog. The technique use search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN to bring traffic to a site. So, SEO purpose is to rank as high as possible in search engine result with specific keyword. So that, a visitor will see it and come to the sites. SEO is for:
A newbie that begin to make blogs / sites and he / she is not social at all.
Unless you are a famous superstar or a social person that have many friends, you will find it’s very hard to make a site and makes it popular no matter how smart, how creative your content and how good your sites are. No one will know about your sites.
You sell something online on the net.
Just imagine, it’s like you have a shop deep in the forest or in the middle of an ocean. Of course, who will come and bought your product is just your friend that you told him. SEO is just like “moving your shop to a city” or maybe if you are good enough, you can move to the boulevard. So, many and many web surfer will pass by and find your store and of course, you will get more and more customer.
Or maybe I can say, SEO is for everyone that have website / blog. Why? because there is nothing to loose to apply some basic SEO tips that are really easy.

SEO consist of many aspects and there are no “Perfect SEO” because each search engine have their own way to place and rank a site on their search result. But, there are some general SEO tips that usually work at most of Search Engine. You can follow this easy and simple guide.
Place your keyword at your title.
Besides using your website name or brand like “WMX Personal Homepage” or “WMX Store“, think of what surfer may search and put the word in your title. For example if you have website about handmade accessories, it’s better if you have title like “Self Handmade Accessories” or if you think something related like “Fashion“, “Necklace“, “Bracelet“, etc. You may like to use title like “Fashion Necklace and Bracelet“. And if you wanna place your brand, just add it at the end of the title like “Fashion Necklace and Bracelet on WMX Store“.
Place keyword on your address if it’s possible.
“FashionNecklace.com” is always better than “WMXstore.com“. But If you already have the domain name that are not related to your product, a simple trick to add the keyword to your address is place a folder or using subdomain like “WMXstore.com/accessories” or “accessories.WMXstore.com“. And if that aren’t allowed to, lets use filename using your keyword like “Fashion-Accessories-Necklace-Bracelet.html“. Just be creative.Why? because when the search engine look for any result in their data, they put high priority to address, page name and page title.
Write your keyword 2-3 times in your content and tag it with bold, italic or underlined it once.
Search engine will look also on your page content. So, placing the word in content is essential to improve the sites searchability especially if the word is highlighted.But remember to don’t over do it like write the word 100 times and bold it all. No one will like it, you will lost your reader and the search engine also will mark you as SPAM !! No one like spam.
Get link from your friend.
The logical statement is “No one like to link to bad sites. When you have many sites link to you, your sites will considered to be a good sites“. Big Search engine like Google and Yahoo basically have that logic too when ranking your sites. So, get as many link as you can from your friend.
Join forums and place link to your website at your signature.
This tips is related with the 4th tips. When you place your website on your signature, not just other member will see your signature and click it, search engine will also see the link. Search engine will assume that your site is linked from the forum and it’ll raise your ranking.
